Village Green VelociRAPTORS

Except for our coaches, our team is run entirely by volunteers.  That's how we keep our dues so low.  

Running a swim meet takes a lot of help from all of our families.  This is where we need you! We need timers, a set up crew, concession workers, runners, heaters and seaters, clerk of course, awards/ribbons help, hospitality/safety marshal, and a tear down crew. Some volunteers who have had some prior training include: the event announcer, starter, computer manager, microphone/speakerphone set up, officials, etc. Each time volunteers are needed, our volunteer coordinator will send out an email with a link to our website where you will have the chance to sign up for the position you want.  

To ensure we have plenty of help at our home meets, each family will be required to pay a $150 volunteer fee if you do not complete three 2-hour volunteer shifts. All volunteer jobs/shifts must be completed by August 15th.  

For families who have interest in having a bigger role on our team, we have some options for you:

These full-season positions will fulfill your volunteer requirement:

• Meet official to work our Intrasquad meet and at least one regular-season meet
• Photographer / slide show organizer
• Year-end banquet coordinator (collect donations for and purchase coach gifts, food planner, work with pool to choose a date, give list of volunteer needs to volunteer coordinator)
• 4th of July Concessions Fundraiser organizer
• Year-end Fundraising Coordinator
• Social Media - (We would like to have an Instagram and Facebook page for our team.)
• Concessions Coordinator (manage meet concessions for our two regular-season meets. This may include soliciting local businesses for donations (i.e. donuts), purchasing of concession items, ordering breakfast burritos, and giving a list of volunteer needs to the volunteer coordinator.)
• Computer/Timing System (Must be available to work our Intrasquad meet, and our two regular-season meets.)
• Sponsorship Team Member - Simply find a team sponsor willing to donate at least $500 to the Village Green Velociraptors.  (An unlimited number of sponsorship team member positions are available.)
